I use a straw. Doesn't bother me. Helps me get my fluids down. I can actually drink more normal than with the band.
oooh i didn't know that! i love my tervis for tea. my brother and sister-in-law have a zillion of them so i was using one there and fell in love, then opened my birthday present and it was my own! now i need to go look for the water bottle

welcome! my office recommended using the sports type bottles with the lids that pop down. just a normal water bottle type thing.
i drink out of those, reuse a bottle water, drink from a regular cup, and yes, use a straw on occasion. it's not a huge deal for me. i can drink a decent amount without an issue though.
one thing i remember is that when i was preparing for surgery, i honestly thought that i would need a lot of special things. you don't really. but it helped with the nerves to look!
