I know I've seen it on here, but if you could jog my memory as to what I need to do to make a protein drink hot? I'm talking about good, ol' regular protein powder, not stuff like the chicken soup broth or Click protein powders. I'm working on a recipe so I need it to be hot.  Thanks again!

You need to mix your powder into a lukewarm paste -- and then mix more super ho****er/milk into it -- to form a non-lumpy blend.   Most powders clump over 140 degrees (I think that's the number...)  You can't start with chunks or lumps.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm definitely trying to avoid the chunky floaties--ewww.

If any protein powder is added directly to fluids or foods above around 130 degrees, you'll likely see "rubber bullets".  I add unflavored protein to SF pudding, oatmeal, sometimes coffee, etc.  Cold liquids are not an issue. But mix protein with water to make a creamer consistency, then add to hot foods or liquids and this issue.  Heat the protein drink first, then slowly stir in your protein creamer you made. DAVE

I thought I heard somewhere you could use a soy-based protein powder instead of the whey for hot items and in cooking.  Maybe I am wrong...?
