OT - A shot of jager and a cigarette {rant}
Oh..my..goodness..When my husband gets home I would love to go sit on my patio have a shot of jager and smoke a cigarette. There are an endless number of reasons why I WILL NOT do this but here is my rant anyways....
This is the 3rd week that my oldest has been out of school..we have 3 kids one that is almost 2 one that just turned 3 last week and our oldest is 8. The first week of summer vacation we went to san diego and went to sea world twice, the zoo, the safari park, went to a family BBQ, went to dave and busters, took them to see a movie at a huge theatre, and the endless swimming at the hotel. The next weekend we went to Las Vegas the kids went as well..we picked up grandpa on the way and they had a weekend of pool time, we took them to circus circus to play on the midway and to the adventure dome there. Last week I forked over a pretty penny for my oldest to be in a week long drama camp. Over the weekend we took the kids to a local flower festival/carnival. Tomorrow we have my husbands company picnic which is another carnival(they rent out the local fair ground etc,,)
Maybe this is entirely my/our fault but my kids are driving me INSANE they are doing nothing but fighting/not sharing. They acted horribly when I took them into a boutique earlier today and then asked to go somewhere "special" for them afterwards(obviously that didn't happen). My oldest just keeps asking "whats next?" "can we do ________ tomorrow?" "where are we going today?" and I'm constantly having to pull the youngest two apart.
I love my kids soooooooooo much and I know I am absolutely blessed to even have kids but I already need a break and its only week 3!! I feel like we are fortunate enough to be able to do things for our kids but obviously they are not appreciating it at all and certainly aren't earning any of it.
Thanks for letting me rant..I already feel a little less stressed.

Oh girl-I know how you feel! I have two boys and I feel like we've been on this nonstop of quest having fun, fun, fun! If we are not doing something all the time-then they are bored out of their minds! I think I've realized that I just need to chill and let them entertain themselves!
Mama needs some relaxation time too!!
Big hugs to you!

So glad mine are grown, except the 17 year old who still whines that she is bored. A house full of electronics and she is bored. Cry me a river. I just tell her there is always housework and laundry and that shuts her up. It gets worse and then it gets better then you get the grand kids. And it all happens way too fast. I know it doesn't help but enjoy every minute. I still look back at when my kids were little as my happiest times. Seems like it was yesterday.

It is a tough job. Sometimes I wonder how I ever did it with 5 kids. My daughter has 3 girls, 6, 3 and 2 plus two stepkids that live with them most of the time that are 7 and 4. I don't know how she does it. I had the two youngest for a few hours the other day and I thought I would die. They ran me ragged, up the stairs, down the stairs. My poor animals cowered in terror when one would come near them. Who would have thought 2 sweet little girls could get into so much trouble. I was never so happy as when their father showed up. I practically kissed his feet. My son and his wife, who don't have children of their own yet, are keeping the girls overnight this weekend. They have no idea what they are getting into. Those girls are terrors. They may rethink their plans for children after a few hours with these guys. I love them to pieces, though.
Here is a picture from that day.

I couldn't begin to imagine having 5..our plan was always to have 3..but we never 'intended' on the youngest to barely be a year apart and I NEVER thought i'd be a stay at home mom. I was always a career woman and I really enjoyed the life style that came along with having 2 incomes however I haven't been able to find any good childcare in our area to allow me to go back to work. I've been home for 3 years now and get so jealous of my husband somedays that he gets to go be social and enjoy time outside of the house!
Although I don't drink or smoke anymore, I call it 'boubon and sweatpants time', which translates into 'don't ask me for *hit'
I hear what you are saying. although my children never argued because they are 11.5 years apart, it's hard when they are seemingly doing everything to push every button you have.
