They are missing some important nutrients, though, like selenium.  They are not really complete even though they put that word on their label.  I wonder why your surgeon disagrees with the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, which says we need an ADULT vitamin that contains minerals including selenium.

Centrum adult chewables are also missing selenium. What can happen if selenium gets low? Is there a selenium to take separate?

Centrum silver chewables do contain selenium, and Centrum that you swallow also has selenium.  And yes, you can take a separate selenium supplement.

Selenium deficiency can cause heart problems,, thyroid problems and immune system problems.

Centrum Silver is the horrible tasting ones I tried but there is another orange flavor centrum chewable that I was looking at online and I noticed no selenium among other things.

Yeah, that's the regular adult chewable centrum.  I didn't like it myself but I know other people that think it tastes OK.

Let me ask this.  Are you planning to use chewables longterm or just for a little while since your surgery was recent?  If you're planning to switch to a multi you swallow soon, then I wouldn't worry about the selenium in the chewable for now.  Selenium deficiency is not very common in this country and it's pretty unikely you'd develop a deficiency in a month or two.

If you plan to use a multi without selenium for more than a couple months, though, I would consider adding a selenium supplement.  I would probably just add a very small dose and then watch your labs to see if you need to add more.

I will be using chewables forever as I have never been able to swallow pills. I was just looking at alternatives to the 8 optisource vitamins a day that I'm doing now. Less would be better but it has to be something I can get down obviously. I would actually prefer a good tasting liquid vitamin but haven't found any liquids up to par with our needs.

I don't think there are many good liquid options.  Celebrate has ENS, which is a powder you mix with water.  It is a multi plus 500 mg calcium.  I think it tastes like Koolaid.  It's kinda expensive but I used it for a couple years because I had trouble taking a lot of pills for a while.

Celebrate, Bariatric Advantage and Building Blocks are brands that make good chewables.  Good in terms of the nutrition, I mean.  You only need two of those a day.  I think you can get samples of all those to see if you like the taste.

Thanks Kelly! I will check those out. I don't really care about cost as the opti source are $25 a bottle. I'm saving more than that in my food costs.

Since the ENS has calcium too, that at least offsets the cost a bit.  You'd need to drink two a day, and then you'd only need one other dose of calcium.
