Sick From Yogurt!

Before you think you might not be able to tolerate any kind of yogurt, I suggest getting plain greek yogurt and adding in some sugar free jam.  I use 4 oz plain greek yogurt, add in 1 Tbsp Polaner sugar free jam, 1 packet of Truvia, and I add 1/2 oz fiber one cereal.  I also add in some diced fruit if I feel  like it.  A strawberry, peach, raspberries,.... whatever.

I hope you're able to figure it out.  Greek yogurt is such a great way to get that protein in.

So are you trying PLAIN yoghurt or Yoghurt with additives?

This is what I consume:

I add stuff to it No issues. I dump, but this doesn't make me dump. The sugar in it is from the milk, it's not added. Anything with added sugar eliminates your ability to select what is added and the sugar (or high fructose corn syrup) additives.

I eat yoplay. I find Greek yogurt to thick and heavy...however, I can not eat yogurt in the morning or I will die!!!

Yoplait Light (French Vanilla Flavor) yoghurt nutrition for six ounces:
100 calories
5 g of protein
21 g of carbs
0 g of fat

2nd ingredient on the list is SUGAR, third is CORN STARCH (empty carbs) (I couldn't cut and paste)

FAGE - 5.3 oz (0% fat for comparison, I do full fat)
120 calories
13 g of protein
18 g of carbs
0 g of fat

Ingredients: STRAINED YOGURT: Grade A Pasteurized Skimmed Milk, Live Active Yogurt Cultures (L. Bulgaricus, S. Thermophilus, L. Acidophilus, Bifidus, L. Casei).

I add things to my yoghurt so it won't be too thick and heavy. Also I can't have ANY yoghurt that doesn't have full fat. Low fat and zero percent fat always have a lot of carbs to make up for the missing fat, and my blood sugar invariably crashes. The worst blood sugar crash i ever had was 90 minutes after a yoplait. I woke in the middle of the night drenched in sweat, my heart racing at 240 beats per minute, thinking I was going to die. (It is awful to be bathed in sweat and have the temperature in the 50's)

The yoghurt I generally consume is full fat:

FAGE - 7 oz full fat
190 calories
11 g of protein
8 g of carbs
10 g of fat

I never have yoghurt in the morning... it's always my late afternoon or evening meal.

I've tried every plain yogurt at the store it's a no go, I don't add anything it doesn't matter, on bite 2 or 3 it's nausea I don't know why, I don't understand it, if I try to eat more it comes back up. I can eat beef, pork chicken, turkey, beef jerky, hamburger, nuts with no problem. The only 2 foods that I've eaten that gives me problems are yogurt and scrambled eggs.

that's how I am with fi****ry it now and again to see if it's changed, and it hasn't.

Same with water. 1 oz is fine, 2 oz is iffy, and 3 oz and I'll be wondering "Why do I feel sick?" then I'll notice the fact that I had more water than I liked, and Oooooh, that's why

Today I had 20 oz of a sugared lemonade because I was excessively thirsty. It was 20 oz lemonade or 2 oz of water. Even though I don't deal well with sugar, it was better to have the sugar and drink the lemonade than to go thirsty. (it was a particularly mild lemonade too, I think it was one where the ice had melted and it was mostly water which was great!)

I'm with you on the water, too! No more than 2 oz or I'm nauseous. I've tried it all temperatures, nope not happening. I can use it with protein powder or nector, but not plain. My surgeon's office said that is common. I'll have to take their word for it.
