Yes, I sure did. I felt excited but also terrified. The day before my surgery I was very emotional and teary because I knew that my life was going to be changed forever with the alteration of my stomach. I prepared a bunch of pureed soup and froze it in tiny portions and could not believe that would be all my new stomach could handle post op in a couple of days. I was saying goodbye forever to having huge portions for holidays and my birthday for the rest of my life. It was an emotional rollercoaster but I did the research and was satisfied that I was making the right choice. I hope you feel some calmness soon and can relax. Best of luck to you!
This is a major life change. I'd be shocked if you weren't feeling such a mix of emotions.
After I got my surgery date I thought about our trip to Italy that was scheduled for four months later. I was depressed thinking that I'd feel like I was missing out on tasting all of the good food. But by that time I was cleared for most things, and my parents and I would share plates at meals so we could all taste a little bit of everything. I ended up realizing that even though I had to make some concessions **** cream is the one thing I can't tolerate) life was the same, just with smaller portions and protein prioritized.
Where you're at right now is the most difficult, because it's really hard to envision life as a post-op. But keep remembering why you're doing it. You want a healthier, longer life and this is a truly positive step toward that. Don't forget that this community will be here for you through the whole journey!
Feel your feelings and have compassion for yourself. Best wishes!

Thanks so much for your post. I was feeling a little down about cruising 2months post but I 'm getting over it. My prayer is that I will be able to have fun. The thought of not eating all those different foods is a little detecting but I weigh (pun intended) it against being at least a dress size smaller getting on the plane & ship.
I can't wait for the new changes. "Count it all Joy"
