I think my pouch is confused

I posted about having issues and throwing up again on Friday. So I didn't consume anything except liquids and protein shakes for Thursday afternoon/evening, Friday, and Saturday. I decided to try to eat on Sunday. 1/2 an egg for breakfast-OK. Late lunch of 3 slices canned pears, and 1 wasa cracker with wedge of laughing cow cheese-OK. Dinner 05. oz chicken breast with some garlic sauce on it-OK. Snack protein shake-OK. So I am thinking YEEHA! I have made it through and my pouch is open and I don't have to be scoped again.
This morning on the way to work I call and leave a message for the nurse that I was able to eat yesterday and that I am ok so ignore my message from Friday. I get to work, ( I consume a protein drink made out of Unjury unflavored protein, crystal lite, H2O, and ice) having prob had a 4 sips of this drink on the way, have this distressing uncomfortable pain in my chest, but I haven't eaten anything?? I then proceed to puke what I have drank and the foamies for the next 2 hours! GO figure?? The nurse calls me just to check in, and guess who is getting scoped tomorrow?

Why would I have been able to eat yesterday and this happen today? I have only consumed water, pudding and a fudgecicle today, haven't thrown up again but tutmmy is a little queasy.

All thoughts and guesses appreciated!

the protein shake you made - it was only water, unflavored protein powder, ice and crystal lite?  Nothing else?  What flavor crystal lite?  If it was something acidic like a lemonaide, or citrus it could have just caused a bout of reflux causing you have chest discomfort and then to throw it up.  Also, if you drank it too fast, that causes the foamies.  If you are still pretty new out, you still need to sip, sip and sip very slowly - taking big gulps and too fast will cause you to vomit things back up and also cause the foamies.  Not a pleasant experience.  Also, if you are having trouble with acid and reflux - fudgecicle aren't a good idea - nothing with chocolate.  Chocolate causes reflux.  As far as the pudding - if it is vanilla, it should be okay, just make sure it is SF.

One thing my surgeon told us when we were early out, if we had a day where we had trouble swallowing a food at the beginning, we were to go back to liquids for 2 days to let things calm down and then try again but not the food that caused the problem - wait about 2 weeks before trying that particular item.  It is possible that you just pushed too fast.  If you were able to eat earlier in the day and the day before it is highly unlikely that it is a stricture = stricutures cause patients to go weeks unable to eat anything and sometimes not even to be able to get fluids down.

If it possible that you are having reflux problems from an ulcer or something else.  Better safe than sorry= good luck

I have a question:   Do you go to your surgeon to get scoped or a gastro doctor?  Thanks, Jane

Scoped and dilated today. Hope all is well now. Jane, my surgeon does the scopes and dilations.
