It's been awhile but I did a Dame Judy and cut it very very short. Lots of complements!

If I'm being a dummy, go ahead and dope slap me, but it seems like AA ladies have a cultural pass to wear wigs. EuroAmerican ladies, on the other hand, get weird looks and rude questions when they're wearin'. Maybe not in Hollywood, but in Oregon, for sure. I have a lovely head of hair but I'm afraid to wear it since strangers gawped at me and my daughter clearly thought I was uncool.

Also, what is a lace front wig? Do I want one?

Nik, isn't that your home-grown hair in front of the headband? That very area is where I'm balding.

I never know when my pioneering fashion statements cross the line into crazy old lady territory.

I have several wigs...my hair was getting super thin on top and I was really self conscious about it...I order mine from VogueWigs.com and they are awesome.  A lot of sites charge a restocking fee if you return them, but they don't.  I ordered one in a color I thought I would like but when it came, it was just too golden for my skintone...I returned it and they credited my card no problem.  I bought one at a local store and it was twice as much as the exact same wig I on the site.  I get compliments on my hair all the time... :)  I would post a picture but I don't know how!! lol  If I figure it out, I will post some...

Thats right Angela rock those wigs! I think black women are just more open about wearing wigs. When I left the hospital I put on my wig and walked out my head high. I know there are white women wearing wigs and weaves but they don't dare tell anybody.

Get a synthetic hair wig to just get used to wearing a wig right now. If it works for you then get the $200 human hair wig. If that works for you then get the $300 custom human hair wig. Start cheap and work your way up. A good wig will last years!

Half the pics on my profile are me wearing wigs, I couldn't stand the short boring hair for as long as my hair was falling out so I turned to wigs.  I bought tons of them, never expensive, matched them to my clothes and my moods it was lots of fun.  Look up local wig shops that sell synthetic more inexpensive wigs so you can go try to them on, no sense paying a fortune if you turn out hating it.  Some people can't deal with them on their head.  I am finally growing my hair out so I tossed all my wigs, they get really frizzy after a while.  I had a nice human hair wig I bought near the end.

I will post some wig pics so you get the idea.....

This is how my real hair looks now.....
