Hey Friends,

I'm 3 weeks post op and tried tofu for the first time last night!  It tasted great and seemed to settle well, but this morning I woke up with terrible heartburn... and I feel like I need to vomit.  I NEED to be able to eat tofu because I'm having a hard time getting my protein in.  What can I take for heart burn??

are you on an acid reducer?  If not, that would be your best bet.  over the coumter is fine,  If you are. tums can be added or you may need 2 a day instead of one

I have horrible acid reflux and my dr has me taking omeprazole and Pepcid twice a day. They help a lot. Also Tums as needed.

I wouldn't know what to do without my omeprazole 40mgs. It's the best thing I have ever used. Heartburn & acid reflux gone with this once a day....I got a prescription for this & it's like $3 at Walmart with my insurance. If you have no insurance you can get it on the $4 plan.
