OT:Donating my clothes to fire victims!
RNY on 05/22/12
As many of you I have pondered what to do with all of these clothes that are now too big for me, well I initially thought I would cut many of my shirts up and make myself a quilt as sort of a reminder of the clothes I used to wear, so I have been just stacking clothes up as I could no longer wear them. However recently in my state of Washington there are many fires growing with a very large fire near the Cle Elum/Ellensburg area, I believe 70 homes have burned down so far, the fire is not yet contained. Well many towns around our state are taking donations for the fire victims there are many families displaced right now (the ones where homes were destroyed and those who have had to evacuate). Anyway I found out that a business in the town where I work is taking donations for the victims and will be delivering these items to the fire victims, so I decided that these people are in need of clothing more than I am in need of a quilt! So last night I boxed up a large box of jeans/dress pants and 4 kitchen trash bags stuffed full of shirts, shorts, etc. During my lunch time today I am going to drop these off at the donation location! Also going to ask if I can donate household items, if so I will be going through my back bedroom where I put many household items as I was remodeling this spring, I was going to put them in a yard sale but if I can donate them and help this cause I will.
