So am I hungry or is this what is called head hunger. I want a tomato and avocado bagel. I was a piece of chicken. I want bean soup. Could I be hungry? I am on this stage for 4 more days. By the way TOM is visiting. :(

I was hungry at the end of my clear liquid diet too (last week). I was weak and starting to feel very deprived. Last Wednesday they transitioned me to Full Liquids. The added protein and few things have made a big difference.

My surgeon's plan is very conservative compared to some of the plans I've seen on here (1 week of clear liquids, 2 weeks of full liquids, 2 weeks of purees, all before you can go to soft foods) but I do think its helping to heal my digestive system well before introducing anything that could slow my recovery. I have not vomited at all and each day I'm feeling stronger.

But yes, bottom line, I do think it is possible that you are hungry.

Hi. What are you feeding your kids? I think that is the hard part for

My husband is being a dream and pretty much covering what they need.   I made some soup tonight for myself while he grilled chicken and veggies for him and the kids.   We are going grocery shopping tomorrow together and I'm hoping to find easy things to make for them throughout the week, while still focusing on what I need.   Its HARD, isn't it?    It will be easier as I transition to real food and can just eat smaller portions of what they are having -- within reason.

The early post-op days where so difficult, I wanted taco bell, some pizza hut sandwich, a turkey alvecado sub, and the list goes on. I blame it on watching too much tv in the week following surgery because there was nothing else to do and I was on too much pain medication to read or play a cell phone game. It seemed like every commercial was for something delicious and is all I was allowed to eat was sugar free jello. For me head hunger went away once I could eat food and once I figured out food wasn't really my friend and it didn't make me feel good like it did back in the day.

You will get through it I promise

I hope you have some Unjury Chicken (Portein) Soup! I just had this last night and really wish I knew about it during the first couple of weeks after surgery. It is really good and I surely would have gotten all my protein with this.

I had my surgery on Monday the 13th and too am finding the all liquid diet is a struggle.  I have watched the food channel and searched for meals on Pinterest.  UGH- my doctor wants another week of pure liquids. 8 more days.  I'm finding it hard to get all my protein down because I am just full, or when I do get enough down, I don't feel good, almost tired.  Has this happened to anyone else?  I'm new to all this and so excited for this journey, but didn't think it would be this difficult.  I just want to chew!!!  I do have the chicken soup, but not fond of it, yet... I'm sure that will change as the days go by.  I have lost 17 total pre-op week and surgery week which is promising- just ready for more choices.
Thanks for any help!

I would sip on some green tea it is a wonderful natural appitite suppressant.
Try sipping on some new things like tomato juice, V8.
