Nausea

I'm a few days out, and my nausea seems to be getting worse. I'm taking in as much protein shake and other clear liquids that I can tolerate. Is the nausea from not getting enough fluids in? I've also been taking my anti-nausea suppositories and all my other prescriptions, but I'm still feeling a bit queasy.
Yesterday, I had about 40oz. of clear liquids and 45g of protein. I know I need to up those amounts, and each day has been a little better than the previous. Today, though, Nausea has been slapping me around this AM. Ugh...

You just had major surgery on your stomach. The nausea is completely normal. It should get better over the next few weeks. I'm three months out and still get nauseous sometimes but nothing like it was the first few weeks. Everyone is different. It's always best to check with your surgeon with your concerns. Don't worry that you are "bugging" them, that's what they are there for. Good luck to you.

Thanks! I'm actually seeing the surgeon's NP on Tuesday so I'll bring it up to her then.
Yeah, it just really hit me this morning. I'm doing much better after all my meds kicked in.

I had extremely bad nausea in the hospital, but it had been better since I got home. Then it reared its head again for the last two days. I think I may be drinking too fast sometimes instead of sipping. I don't know if that's your issue, but it's something to be mindful of. We'll see how it goes for me today! Here's hoping for no nausea all around!

I was thinking that may be a possibility, too. I started using a timer on my phone in order to keep pace with a half an hour. We'll see how it goes. ;)
I wasn't really nauseous in the hospital until the afternoon before I was discharged. I think it had more to do with the nutrition shake they gave me because one sip did not sit well with me. They had to order some Zofran for me.
