Another slight warning -- A friend of mine (not an RNY person) started seeing her blood pressure go up and she was retaining water. A consult with her PCP identified the only real change in her diet was that she had been drinking V8 juice everyday -- and it has a very high sodium content. So if you are going to add it to your diet, I highly recommend the low sodium version.

I am using the low sodium version because I have a family history of heart disease (I don't have any heart problems, though). I've been very careful with my sodium intake for a long time.
