I may be doing a wedding cake for some friends who are getting married in October! I'm so jazzed because I haven't done any cake projects since I had my daughter, so this will be good to flex my cake decorating muscles again.

I'm not worried about gorging on excess cake because I have my husband here as my official Taste Tester, and I'm planning to do a cake tasting with them in a couple of weeks. Besides, when I'm making something like this for someone else, I have zero desire to try it out. That's why I need my trusty Taste Tester!

Im just so f'ing excited!

I'm a sucker for buttercream frosting! Yup, had some post-op and had the worst headache ever...then the next day, "Oops, I did it again!" Needless to say, the buttercream was given to the trash can!

Glad for you that you can make somebody a beautiful wedding cake. It feels good to be able to get back in the "swing" of things!

Yum! I love making cakes for people. I made my husband a four-layer ice cream cake for his birthday last year and it was such a blast. We just got married this summer and our wedding-party cake was so beautiful I wanted to share it with you as soon as I read this. It was a white-almond cake with real strawberry filling and vanilla buttercream. Good luck and have fun!

This is the cake from our actual wedding. We only had eight people there, so it was cute and small. Also white almond cake with vanilla buttercream. Just lovely. :-)

I love the Futurama characters! Both lovely cakes. :)

I have a friend that I want to make a Bender cake for, since it's one of his favorite characters.

Thanks! I actually just bought my husband a magnetic board for his office that has Bender on it.
:-)

We love Futurama and since I'm a sassy, stubborn, weightlifter-wannabe and Joe is my easy-going guy Fry and Leela just seemed like the perfect cake toppers.

"The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings" is my all-time favorite episode, and I can still remember seeing it (and tearing up) with Joe for the first time: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Devil%27s_Hands_Are_Idle_Pl aythings
