Dating post surgery?!
The board is a little quiet - but post and they will come ...

You'll get replies from singles who have been where you are! Read some old posts - there is a TON of info in the older questions and there are a great bunch of dating and WLS vets over there!

I am married so I'm only dating my husband but...
- Walks on the beach / Park/ Mountain / City
- Movies
- Plays/opera/ballet/concerts
- Sporting Events
- Bowling
- Arts and crafts (Glazenfyre)
- Skating
- Bike ride
I think anything that you would do when you were a kid and didn't have extra money for food (I remember my parents would give us just enough money for admission. Concession was a luxury). There is a reason why most of us were healthier when we were young and broke.
Hope this helps

Why can't you drink? Are you talking about drinking alcohol or just drinking anything? Can't you have coffee or something?
I don't know when your surgery was, but at some point you should be able to eat. I can see not wanting to go out to dinner on a date when I was on pureed food but by the time I was a few months out, I could eat dinner at a restaurant. I just always had leftovers to take home.
But why does a date have to involve eating? Couldn't you do something else? I'm trying to think of dates I've gone on that did not include dinner. Besides meeting at someplace like Starbucks for coffee, I've gone to Barnes and Noble with a date and had coffee and then browsed for books, I've gone to movies (although I don't really like movies for first dates because you don't get to talk to each other much), I've gone to a mall and gone window shopping, I've gone to a club to go dancing (which I didn't really like because I don't like to dance, but it's an option), and once I went to church with someone on a date. It was a first date and yes, it was a weird date. But anyway...

I agree with Kim, post on the singles board. I am divorced in the past year and actually have started dating.....put yourself out there and have fun.
You can certainly find things to do that don't involve food and drinking, be creative. One of the funnest dates I've had recently is going bowling. I hadn't done that in year and although I'm terrible at it, we laughed and had lots of fun.
