Well last night I passed out at home, never in my life felt life was leaving me..

My husband took me to the ER- and walking 3 steps, I passed out and could hear but could no longer could respond - my body stopped completly. My heart rate dropped, sugar dropped, and my blood pressure was very low.

After several bags of liquid- and special coctail of vitiams doctor wants to put in a PICC or feeding tube in.

has anyone had these problems?? or a feeding tube or PICC line in?

Wow! Hope you get better soon!

I've seen a couple of people on here get a feeding tube, so it does happen. It's probably a precaution, just to make sure you're getting all of your nutrients in--at least until your levels stabilize.

Sorry you are having complications.  They do happen, the percentages aren't real high.  I hope someone that has had problems will give you the encouragement you need.

If your doc believes a feeding tube is your best bet then please do it.  Do your labs show malnutrition?  How are your vitamin levels?

Good luck, I know right now you possibly are wondering why me, why did I do this, etc.  I can only imagine......hang in there, even the majority that do have complications get through the rough patches.

Thank God for the wonderful gift of WLS.  Use it wisely as the tool it is meant to be and hold yourself accountable for the rest of the journey!!!

I passed out recently, but not the same way you did. Please make sure to take care of yourself. Have your B vitamins checked and make sure you are getting enough thiamin. What you are experiencing sounds similar to a local case i heard where that was a deficiancy.

So sorry to hear this. My daughter has a feeding tube and has had many picc lines in her short life. It is not due to wls, but I am very knowledgeable, so if I can help, feel free to ask.

Hopefully this will be a short bump in the road and you will be able to get some nutrition and start to heal.

Your surgery date is only about 10 days ago.  Dehdration is a common issue with recent post ops. I warned my wife before her revision about drinking fluids. BUT, she ended up in the hosptial with a PIC line for a few days--reason was dehydration.  Low bp can be a result of 40-50 pounds of wt loss. I had low bp at 7 months post op, and after several tests, I ended up with a pacemaker to control my low bp rate.  DAVE

I've had a PICC line when I had to have TPN.  It was not a big deal. The TPN was a pain because I had to carry it around in a litte backpack 18 hours a day.  But it helped my body heal and that was worth it. Good Luck
