need info..heart freaking out
Dont know if this could be the same sort of problem. My dad found out ona pre op physical that his hearbeat was irratic. He ended up having something I thinkc called carioversion ( spelling is probably not right) Basically they did a procedure and shocked his heart back into a normal rhythm.
He also has other issues going on so while they were doing the procedure they implanted a pacemaker and implantable cardioverter-defibrillator He is now MUCH better and his heart function has really improved.

I've been following the boards and am scheduled for roux-en-y on 9/11. I have a defibrillator and pacer implanted and have the pvc problem. They implanted it to prevent me from going into cardiac arrest two years ago. I also have had a heart attack and a triple bypass. The implant of the device is a breeze.....and the recovery is fast. I hardly know it's there. It has improved my heart function greatly and handles the pvc problem. Better to be safe than sorry. I actually like having it because I know if my heart fails I will get jolted and it will save my life. It has never gone off so far and if it does I will be thankful I had it done.
