1st day of pre op diet....let's do this
Today is the first day of my two week pre-op diet. MIne doesn't sound as hard as some others. I have a protein shake for breakfast and lunch. Fruit in the am and afternoon for snacks and for dinner 4oz lean meats, non starchy vegetables.
I think I can handle this for two weeks.
I am getting more and more excited about surgery.
I may be terrified the day off (this is my first surgery)
but fo now....I am just looking ahead....thinking how much better I will feel.

Also decaff tea or coffe black and unlimited chicken, beef or vegatable broth.Going good so far, just keeping my eye on the prize-surgery on september 24th @8:00 am so excited to get on the bench!!! Good luck to you.

This is actually what I am on right now, my surgery is in 8 days, I am onday 7 of my liquid, lean, very restrive diet.
breakfast: protein shake & fruit
lunch: protien shake& veggie
snack: fruit & small portion of dairy (yogurt, string cheese, etc)
dinner: 3oz lean meat, veggie, grain
I am fine during the day, but I am very hungry for dinner by 4:30, and then I want any thing and everything that I can think of and what I can't have to eat.
Just a heads up, its hard. My head is playing food games with me and all I can really think about is PIZZA!!!!!!! I was fine to begin with, but by day 6 I was going nuts and still am.
its hard, good luck.

I was told I can still have my coffee (caffeine) before surgery, but after it will be decaf for a while. So no headache here, my morning coffee is the only caffine I do, so thats easy enough. I stopped drinking soda a long time ago.
sorry about the headache, I am sure glad I didn't have to give up mine.
