Asthma??

I just got something in the mail today from my insurance company, welcoming me to their asthma program. I've never been diagnosed with asthma before, but when I was in the hospital for my surgery, I had to use a BPAP machine because my breathing slowed a lot when using the morphine PCA. I also kept waking up because whenever my breathing slowed, all the machines would keep beeping to alert the nursing staff. Could it be because I had to use the BPAP that they think I have asthma? When the nurses/respiratory therapists listened to me breathing, they said it sounded fine. I'm just confused?
I've been told I have asthma, too. Yet, whenever a doctor listens to my breathing they say I'm fine and they kind of give me that "Why do you think you have asthams?" look. It is v-e-r-y confusing! On the other hand, I've had pneumonia 5 times. So, while I may not actually have asthma, I must have some kind of respiratory problem that they are just lumping under the term "asthma." Maybe this is what's going on with you...???
