Hey everyone! I had my surgery at 11am on Tuesday and was home at 5pm Wednesday. The only issue I have had so far is gas. and OH BOY, has that been PAINFUL! I am still taking psin meds but at a much lower dose. I was up and walking by myself Tuesday night/Wednesday morning at 11pm, 2 am, 4am, 6 am 7 am. When I could not sleep, I walked! The nurses could not believe how much I was walking-espacially in the wee hours of the morning. I really did help the gas pains! Well, with all pain really.

Glad to hear you are home so soon -- I hope I am as fortunate!  Did you have open or laproscopic?  I'm scheduled for tomorrow morning at 7:30, wish me luck!

I had laproscopic. The best thing I did was WALK often. If I woke up at 22 am I walked, 4 am I walked. It REALLY does help.

Congrats on getting home so soon!  And yes, the gas pain is the worst!  Walking helps a lot and I did the same... when I was up, I was walking around.  It feels good to get up and move, even if the gas pains don't exactly move too.

good luck with your surgery too!!

WElcome home!!  My surgery was Monday and yes the gas is the worst.  If it wasn't for that, I feel like I haven't had surgery.  My "schedule" is pretty much like yours.  I'm walking, sipping, sleeping, walking, sipping, etc. lol.  In my past experience with abdominal surgeries, day 5 or 6 seems to be the turning point in pain/gas.  It's like you wake up and it's gone!!  Hang in there and just be sure to sip and take those pain meds!
