Spicy food

I made "my" chili for the first time since surgery. I figured out the recipe on myfitnesspal and it's 150 cals, 17 g protein for a 1/2 cup serving, so I was happy happy. But I haven't made it in so long I kind of forgot my seasoning proportions, and wound up with VERY spicy chili. Hubby loved it and it tasted good to me, but geez is it sitting on me heavy and weird. Made me wonder, how does everyone make out with spicy food?
I love spicy food. I had spicy chili tonight for dinner!

I love spicy! It sits just fine with me.

It's super easy and not fancy. 1 46 oz. can of tomato juice (I use Sacramento brand), 2 cans of kidney beans (rinsed), 2 lbs. of 93% lean hamburger, chili powder to taste & crushed red pepper flakes to taste. Brown the burger in a pot. When it's cooked, add the tomato juice, beans, chili powder & crushed red pepper. Cook it for anywhere from 1 hour to 3 - the longer you cook it the thicker it will get. It will make about 15 1/2 cup servings.
