Operation: Wedding Cake is underway!

 Well, I've started preparing stuff for a friend's wedding cake that I'm putting together for them. They're short on cash, and finalized the date and all their plans in a few months--crazy!

Anyway, since I love to bake and have gotten better at cake decorating, I figure this will be my first "real" cake. I've done other cakes and desserts in the past for other events, but this is the Big One. LOL I'm just really excited to put it together. It's going to be great!

I make cakes as my "other" job (momma is my main job!). They are so much fun and rewarding when people love what you make! I can't wait to see pics when you're finished!!!

 I'm a former cake maker myself.  Only bake for close friends and family.  HAHA I am thinking about paying someone to make cupcakes for my DD 4th birthday party.  Post pics!!

I'm a cake maker as well... friends and family .... it's so rewarding when you make something beautiful and yummy. I think part of my cake making came from my first wedding where I was pressured into getting a "fake" cake by my inlaws lol... they insisted that you needed something for the pictures of cutting the cake. I didn't want anything - since dessert was included. I think after the divorce 10 yrs later and looking for a new hobby making real cakes was a weird way of correcting the cake I didn't want lol.

It's funny I got remarried last weekend and instead of a wedding cake ( which I could have made) I did cupcakes and no cake cutting ceremony . lol. my way....

I tried to be a cake maker once. I decided to make a a friend a bday cake. He is a huge coffee drinker I decided to make him a cake in the shape of a coffee mug. The cake crumbled. He was having a big party that night and of course that cake was supposed to feed everyone. So what to do in a crisis. Dump the cake on to a cookie sheet and pour the icing on top! It was a disaster but hysterical!
