My turn to have a bad day :(

My surgery was 9/11 and I am only able to eat 1/4 cup total. My surgeon does not allow chili or any kind of meat even ground beef until 7 weeks out and then I can try a cup full. Maybe the chili was too soon to eat and too much. Your tummy was telling you not to do  it again. They explained to me that putting too much food or spicy things into the pouch too soon could push the staples apart causing a leak or worse. I don't want anything like happening. I want to be healed totally. Do you have a special diet to follow that your surgeon gave you? I am following mine exactly as written. I don't want any complications.

I am following what my surgeon suggested as well.  All surgeon's are different.

As long as chilis and such things are pureed I can consume them.

This just didn't work for me.

I can eat more than 1/4 cup as long as I only eat 1/4 cup every 15 minutes.  No more than 1/2 cup for a meal

So sorry you had to go through that!  I hope you are feeling better soon... I think its smart to stick with jello and water for a day or so.  I just got over having the flu and my doc said don't worry about the protein just focus on the fluids...

Feel better!!

I too am 17 days out. I can barely eat 1/4 of a cup of food at a time. I suspect you might have just overdone it a bit and hope you feel better in a day or so. I know what you mean about the dogs, I actually gave mine some refried beans with cheese. Maybe just a tiny bit for each of them( before anyone freaks out!) They are shelties and they will eat anything, but usually they just get dog crunchies so they are loving this gastric bypass thing. Its funny because we know that we can't eat the food ourselves, yet still can't bear to throw it out.. I have to work on that I guess( for the dogs sake!) Best of luck!

Laurie :-)
