In addition to the volume restristion and the malabsorption, there are also chemical signals that are changed that involve satiety, etc. Research is being done to figure out the exacts - GLP1, GIP- feedback loops - stomach/liver/pancreas interactions - blah blah blah... (and I loved how my surgeon got all excited and drew me a diagram when we started talking about this. I felt like I was back in physiology class...)  Anyway, I know that something in my body has changed my head; for me it involves the drive for chocolate. I just don't feel the draw anymore at all. It's like being free.  I know it's not totally supratentorial since I still crave some things. But food taste changes too. Less is more. I love it!
