Finally went for new jeans today. I had put it off. As I changed sizes previously, I was able to just pull the next size out of my closet - I had quite a collection. This was the first time I had to go out to buy some. I started in a 24 (one pair of 26). I've been wearing a 20 most recently - but was able to take them off the other day w/o unbuttoning or unzipping them. I've put off buying the 18s because I was so afraid I was going to go to the store and they weren't going to fit. Well, I waited long enough...and bought the 16s today! I still can't believe that I am in 16s already. I keep qualifying it... "Well, its only this brand - other 16s won't fit", etc. But then I say "Dude, shut up! You're wearing a 16!!!". WOOHOO! I managed not to cry in the dressing room, much to the appreciation of my husband who was shopping with me. :)

I love how you said you keep qualifying it........

I guess I never really thought about it but that is EXACTLY what I do!!! Everytime my size goes down, I immediatly think that "it's just this scale" or "it's just 's clothes sizes" it's not real- or my favorite...... "it's just vanity sizing".

Until my mother gave me a bunch of her vintage clothes the other day. There is no lying to yourself that you are the same size 8 that people were 40 years ago LOL

Congrats girl....... don't be saying "it's only...."  suck up that victory and be darn proud of it---you should be!!!!

Thank you! :) I'm kinda sad that I can't wear them today but we are working on a big cleaning/reorganizing project in our dirty basement & I don't want to get them dirty. LOL. So grubby lounge pants and a now-oversized tshirt it is!

Congrats!!  I haven't been shopping yet because I still have a lot of my smaller clothes that I have hung on to for a couple of years... I can't wait till I get to the point where nothing fits anymore and I HAVE to go buy new clothes!!

I went through something similar.  I started in size 22's or 20's and had to go and buy size 14's today.  Keep your local thrift store in mind.  They have phenomenal bargains for the rapid weight loss.
