Doctor tells me that RNY might not be a fit for me geneticially!! REALLY
Well today I went to see the doctors he was VERY VERY disappointmented with my weight loss.
he told me that I should of at least lost 50 or 60 pounds by now, I told him I am very frustrated because I have been following the plan etc and slow weight loss. He told me maybe genetically it is not capatible with my body. He says that gastric bypass is not for everyone.. REALLY after spending 10,000 dollars of my own money..
WOW--- I am so upset and just feel like throwing in the towel.
How could I not loose weight with only eating 300 calories a day.
I meet w/ the dietian also and she told me I was eating too much.
this was my old eating schedule
8am- 5 oz of greek yogurt
10am- 15 minute walk
11am- 2oz of meat turkey, ham
11:30-12:30- work out for 45 minutes cardio
2pm- 1oz of beef jerkey
5pm- 2oz of meat
I was streatching and walking, and taking the stairs each day at work. I am burning around 1100-1300 calories a day- and only eating between 300-400 a day
She told me this new SCHEDULE
8am- 2 oz of greek yogurt **EATING LESS HERE
10am- 15 minute walk
11am- 2oz of meat turkey, ham
11:30-12:30- work out for 45 minutes cardio
NO SNACK
5pm- 2oz of meat
I am SOO>> SOOO discouraged.. I feel like this is failed me.. I can't believe I had hope in this surgery.. I was trying so hard, no candy, no sugar free popcyles, no crystal light, cut down coffee by 99% - ONLY water. REALLY.. no gum
I have to confess I just lost it and ate a peice of candy today..
I can't believe what I heard..

Had RNY on 8/8/2012- revision from Gastric sleeve in 12/2008-
LOST 5.8 POUNDS POST-OPT
I don't usually tell people not to listen to their docs, but you really shouldn't listen to yours. you are NOT eating enough at all, and if you drop it down even more you are going to be so deficient you are going to get sick.
You need to get more protein and calories.

Wow. I'm flabbergasted. There is no way you should have only lost like 6lbs since your surgery. Your intake is very very limited -- much less than I was eating at the same time -- unless you aren't listing protein shakes? I would get a 2nd opinion and consider an endocrinologist to see why you aren't losing.
300 Calories is NOT enough. You have to eat more to lose more.
My day today is
6 am cheese stick
8 am greek yogurt
11 am Tuna fish
2pm protein shake
5pm chili with beans and meat
7 sugar free vanilla pudding
1 hr slow walk to unwind the day.
I get about 800-1000 calories a day and the weight is falling off me. I can promise you if you stick to 300 calories per day you will not do well.

I also rarely tell people to not listen to their doctors but this is just CRAZY! It is doing damage to your metabolism that your body may find difficult to recover from.
You need to be eating 800-1000 calories per day MINIMUM! Personally, I would do as you have been doing but add in 3 protein forward snacks to bring that calorie amount up.
I suspect that as a revision, your metabolism is really messed up, but you are a young woman and this really shouldn't be forever. You need to feed your body better and keep up with the exercise...
Please don't give up ...

Revision on 07/05/16
mine is to eat every 3-4 hours, 5-6 times a day. 3 'meals' and 2-3 snacks as needed.
mine is to focus on protein, with healthy veggies and fruits. they do allow healthy grains, but i don't really eat them much. Here is a typical day for me
B - Protein Shake w/spinach (you can omit that of course)
S - 6 ounces greek yogurt (if i'm having dairy) and an apple
L - tofu or beans w/salad
S - protein bar with grapes
D - some protein w/veggies
S - another protein shake

You're a revision, and from what I've read on here, revisions do lose slower. I was eating about 500-600 calories at two months out. Im about 800-900 now. And I'm eating 2 oz meals three times a day with maybe nuts as a snack. But everyone's plan is different an what works for me may not work for others. Bit I know of your exercising you need more calories or your body will hold on to what it can and you'll lose slower.
