Well today I went to see the doctors he was VERY VERY disappointmented with my weight loss.
he told me that I should of at least lost 50 or 60 pounds by now, I told him I am very frustrated because I have been following the plan etc and slow weight loss. He told me maybe genetically it is not capatible with my body. He says that gastric bypass is not for everyone.. REALLY after spending 10,000 dollars of my own money..

WOW--- I am so upset and just feel like throwing in the towel.

How could I not loose weight with only eating 300 calories a day.
I meet w/ the dietian also and she told me I was eating too much.
this was my old eating schedule
8am- 5 oz of greek yogurt
10am- 15 minute walk
11am- 2oz of meat turkey, ham
11:30-12:30- work out for 45 minutes cardio
2pm- 1oz of beef jerkey
5pm- 2oz of meat

I was streatching and walking, and taking the stairs each day at work. I am burning around 1100-1300 calories a day- and only eating between 300-400 a day

She told me this new SCHEDULE
8am- 2 oz of greek yogurt **EATING LESS HERE
10am- 15 minute walk
11am- 2oz of meat turkey, ham
11:30-12:30- work out for 45 minutes cardio
NO SNACK
5pm- 2oz of meat

I am SOO>> SOOO discouraged.. I feel like this is failed me.. I can't believe I had hope in this surgery.. I was trying so hard, no candy, no sugar free popcyles, no crystal light, cut down coffee by 99% - ONLY water. REALLY.. no gum

I have to confess I just lost it and ate a peice of candy today..

I can't believe what I heard..
Please, please, PLEASE find another registered dietician, one with experience with RNY patients, one that understands the ASMBS guidelines.  Your dietician is giving you dangerous advice.  You are NOT eating too much.  You are not eating enough.  Not enough calories, not enough protein.

Please... go see someone that has a clue.

I too was told 600-800 cals a day and at least 60 g protein. Listen to everyone here! They all seem to be very similar to what I was told. Good luck.

Well all I can tell you is what my Doctor told me.  He said forgot counting calories, your main focus now should be PROTEIN.  He said people are like animals...and what does a bear do in the winter when there is no food for him to eat.  He goes into a cave and sleeps and his metabolism goes wayyyy down to survive when no food is around.  If you eat the protein, it jump starts the metabolism.  It sounds like your not eating nearly enough and your body thinks your crawling into a cave to sleep.  Just my opinion...but honestly...talk to someone else (Doctor), this sounds SO WRONG!

Sounds like you sincerely need a second opinion....I can't believe they think 300 calories a day is enough to live on.  I'm a week or so behind you on surgery date, and I'm eating 800-1000 a day, getting 65-90 g protein a day.  I wouldn't call what they have you eating a post-op diet, I'd call it anorexia!

I'm pretty certain your genetics haven't changed since surgery---he couldn't have given you this insight BEFORE he took your money???

That siad, it does seem to be true that certain ethnic groups do better with certain forms of WLS.

Have you gotten the message that your doctor is really bad? Fortunately he's a good cutter because you are here. Just be grateful you got through that part and please disregard this idiot's nutritional advice.
He is setting you up to always feel like a failure. He is setting you up to always be hungry.
He is a cruel clueless *******
You deserve better. I hope you get that.
