First Day Post Op
The IV experience was a nightmare! I was severely dehydrated going into surgery because of the cleanse. Numerous pokes to the hand, arms, wrists, feet, legs...I was told they needed to do an ultrasound and put the line in my neck. That's when I lost it and began crying. They wheeled me back to the OR and I had to be awake without anything to calm or relax me until the IV was placed. Needless to say it hurt badly and was scary. Once it was in, it was lights out. Surgery was delayed for 2 hours as they struggled, but finally got it.
After waking and in recovery I was allowed ice chips! That was great, because my mouth felt like cotton.
I was up and walking by 5pm. No pain, only a little bit of pressure. My back was killing me though ...not my stomach.
This morning, I took my leak test and passed, so now it's on to clear liquids.
