I have lost 21 pounds since surgery 9/26....seems slow to me? What do you think?

Also, my doctor put me on regular food 10 days out. I have not gotten sick at all. There have been a couple times when I have eaten and gotten a pain behind my breast plate. Its a sharp/tight pain while eatting I will have to stop eatting and let it pass. It hurts bad sometimes. I also get these strange gurguling noses in my throat. What is this?  Stuck food?

and last but not least....at 4 weeks out and on regular food...what types of things do you all suggest I should be eating?

21 lbs in 4 weeks.. Umm not to sound rude but when is the last time you have lost that much in a month before. We all have that feeling that we are not losing fast enough but you have to remember that this is a tool and you will not lose all the weight overnight.

Sounds like to me you are getting food stuck. Make sure you chew chew chew. I am 10 weeks out and I can not eat bread, eggs, pasta, rice, oatmeal along with alot of other things so make sure whatever you are eating you are chewing well and you are eating very small bites.

At 4 weeks I was on pureed food so I will be no help here. I know one thing though and that is ALWAY protein first.

I'm almost 6wks out and I've lost 21lbs since surgery. So I say you're doing good!!  I've been on regular food for about a week and a half.  I've been doing things like moist chicken, fish, eggs, chili.  I want a hamburger SO bad but know I can't tolerate it right now.  I've yet to try beef except for ground beef.  I'm slowly starting to do veggies like green beans, cauliflower, zucchini and I'm going to try salad in the next couple of days.   Your pain is probably something getting stuck.  Either you're not chewing well enough or the thing you're eating is too dry.  I always try to dip my meat into something like sour cream, ketchup, ranch....not alot, but enough to give it a little extra moistness.  The gurgling noises i've noticed is when I'm full and maybe took one too many bites.  I don't get the other weird noises some ppl talk about though.  Just slow down and be aware of what you're eating and how fast you're eating it.  Keep up the good work.
