Just an update:1 week post op...surgery date was 10/23....I'm doing just fine....

Well I'm 1 week post op

surgery date 10/23...My pain just eased up today ( no more liquid pain meds) so I'm looking for a brighter tomorrow....I was also cleared to do soft foods today. I was a little disappointed that my staples weren't removed today but I was assured that they would be removed next week.....I'm looking forward to more exercise and a better healthier me...

And oh yeah !!! I lost 21 lbs during the 2 week pre op diet but only to gain back 15 lbs of that but when I went for my appt today I lost 16 lbs in one week....Off to a great start....

Glad ur makin out ok.........I'm pretty sure the liquid meds had to b gross so I'm had ur done wit that......STAPLES?????? Was ur surgery open?????

Good Morning...No ...It was done lap rny.but to close the 7 incisions made they used staples.Rita

We had our surgery on the same day! I lost 17lbs on my pre-op and gained 11 back.  I am back down to where I was when I went into the hospital, but have not lost any extra yet.  Glad things are going well for you. My staples will be in until Friday.

I am brand new to this so excuse thesiy question. I started my preop opti fast diet today. I consider today the first day of my new "life". You mentioned you lost weight but then you regained a bit. Was that with the opti fast?

It's Ok...No i lost the 21 lbs during my 2 wk post op but after surgery I had gained 15 lbs back (I'm guessing from when the gas was used during surgery) but after one week i had lost 16 lbs again...i hope this helps.some people experience weight gain  during suregery and i was one of them....Rita

I lost weight before my surgery I was 258 and was so excited only to be disappointed when I weighed I had gained 15 while in the hospital, but now have dropped to 261 and I am 6 days post op.

great job!!!!!! we have the same surgery date!! glad you are doing well, i still have another week of clear liquids, ugh, thats the hardest part i am dealing with, I am down 13 since my surgery, I hope you continue to do well!!!!
