Calling all newbies starting this process...

Since you are Medi-Cal, have you posted on the California state board?  I have no idea how active that board is, but you might find someone who went through the process with Medi-Cal.  Also, posting on the main board might help.

I'm right there with you. I go on Monday for my third meeting with my NUT. Hoping for surgery end of February / March. Glad there are some newbies out there to go through the process with!

 

I am new too! I am expecting to have my surgery in March or April. I am so ready for this!

I have my first consult with the surgeon and nut on the 20th.I hope everything will fall in to place. I am very excited about all that is to come !!!  hoping to have surgery by the end of the year or beginning of next...

After the seminar, my appointment with the surgeon was September 11, 2012. Completed all of my evalations and information was submitted to tricare on 11/01/12. Approved on 11/02/2012. Estimated date of surgery 11/15/12. Good luck on your journey.

I have also had my initial consult, and have my psych appointment in a couple of weeks and my nutrition appointment on December 10th.  I have had some 'concerned' old friends and co-workers discouraging me from going through with this, but I am determined. I am having the gastric bypass. I also have some great co-workers and acquaintances that are more supportive and understanding and for this I am grateful.

I am planning on having my surgery in the late Winter/early Spring of 2013.  Let's share our journey. We can support each other rand encourage one another on this journey.  We will succeed.

Brand new too, but joined late, am on my liquid prep diet and having RNY on the 13th of Nov :)  glad to see so many other newbies!
