I'm sorry for your pain! Just know that it will go away...it will! I promise! I know when I had the lap band I felt like I had been run over by a semi truck and my back hurt so bad I couldn't bend over and could barely sit to pee. It all goes away!  In a short while the crying will turn to laughter and you'll be happy you did it. It's like having a baby too. It hurts like hell but....we forget and do it again! :)

I am sorry to hear that you are not feeling well.  It will get better after a while.  I would hope that you would be sure and use the pain medication that they sent you home with, it may help things.  Get better soon.

Sorry to hear about your pain but it WILL get better.  The pain from a knee replacement is far worse then the pain I had from the RNY.  Not to mention I had a serious infection in the tools port.  So, chin up, it WILL get better.

Feel better! Soon enough you will be sharing your excitement at pounds dropping off you.

but this is the first I've heard of back pain post op. anyone know why there is back pain? Or is it stomach/intestinal pain that just feels like it's in your back?

I had back/shoulder pain. Mostly shoulder. For me it was from the gas they used to fill my abdomen, and it took a bit to go away.

My back killed me for about 4 days! Before I fell a sleep I was still awake to feel them over extend my arms back and strapping them out to the side. I could feel the pain in my shoulder and back before I went under and my last thought was, omg this hurts but good thing I'll be sleeping soon and not feel a thing lol I could feel the pain of my arms being so far back shooting thru my back, and I just figured the pain I had for about 4 days was those muscles healing.

I was sent home with liquid vicodin for pain. Are you still in the hospital? Hopefully you will start to feel better soon.

I was told by a nurse to make sure to take my pain meds and "don't be a hero" by thinking that you won't need to take them a week out of surgery. Because then you will have to play catch up.
