Hey everyone! I am almost two weeks out of surgery and Thursday I can start my puree stage of my diet. Could anyone please give me ideas and suggestions for what you ate during this stage? Thank you!

I am 10 days post op and I started purees today. My NUT told me to try refried beans mashed really really well.. and so far the tummy loves it. granted i was only  able to eat about 2 teaspoons and i was legitamately full.

Re-fried beans, yogurt, cottage cheese, hummus, baked ricotta cheese, tuna fish w/ light mayo, pureed imitation crab w/ ****tail sauce, soup, scrambled or soft boiled eggs...

If you can put it in a blender and make it mush, you can eat it as long as it meets your nutritionists guidelines for sugar, fats, etc.

I made ground turkey into meatloaf.  I was able to fork mu**** up and eat it that way instead of sticking it in the blender.

Tuna salad, chicken salad, shrimp salad were all good go to's for me.  Cottage cheese with a little fruity SF jello mixed in.  Refried beans with a little cheese.

I was only allowed meat, cheese, eggs at that point so I just pureed whatever meat I was making for my family. I found I couldn't and still have a hard time with pork, but ground beef, garlic steak etc sat really well at that time. I also pureed dark chicken meat but it reminded me too much of catfood it was a mind aversion to it not taste.

I just finished with my pureed stage.  One thing that worked for me was to boil a chicken breast and then cut and weight it into 1 oz pieces (which is how much protein my surgeon said to eat in each meal).  When it was time for a meal I pulled out a piece and shredded/chopped and added different things to add flavor and extra moisture - like a spoonful of marinara sauce, enchilada sauce, light mayo...helped me feel like I was actually getting some variety even though I was eating chicken at least once a day.

The best suggestion I received at this stage was to get a can of Campbell's bean and ham soup, puree the crap out of it, heat and serve.  Believe it or not, it was absolutely delicious...
