How is my dinner going to turn out?

So I'm really not much of a cook..but I do try to experiment and normally things turn out edible and sometimes they are even tasty. That being said my husband laid out a 3lb tri tip to defrost yesterday and I have NO CLUE as to what to do with it. I wanted it to be tender enough for me to eat without it getting stuck so I decided to toss it in the crock pot. I dump on sugar so I didn't want to add BBQ sauce or anything sweet. I ended up adding 1 can of french onion soup that I had as well as 1 small can of RF cream of mushroom soup. Its cooking on low now but I really dont want to ruin 3lbs of meat so I was wondering if any of you guys think I need to add something more to it or if you think it will be fine how I have it now.

Thanks guys!

Sounds good to me. And with three pounds of meat, you will probably have leftovers. You can use some of them to make fajitas or even chili. But I'm a fairly creative cook, so I have no trouble with throwing things together to see what I get!

I wish I was more creative..lol..we are only a family of 5..so we will certainly have leftovers. I'm hoping the kids love it and will eat it for lunch tomorrow as well.

I'm sure it will be delish.  I might cut in some fresh onions and mushrooms and throw them in half way through.  Or throw on some chopped green onions when you serve.      I never cook from recipe's just a little of this or a little of that.    Most days it turns out well.

I do the same.  I'll find a recipe that looks interesting and I never end of following it; add a little of this and a little of that and viola a new recipe, lol.

Sounds good!  I like the idea of throwing in some onions and mushrooms, maybe even a few bell pepper strips to add flavor and color.
