Well the last 2 weeks flew by and tomorrow I have my preadmission tests (PATs).  I can't believe only 2 more weeks and I will have my surgery when it seemed like this was never going to happen.  But, I am so nervous that they are going to find something that will put off my surgery during PATs.  My date is literally just days before my insurance changes and with the new change, I don't think I would be able to get the surgery because it would be too much out of pocket.   Anyone have anything turn up at PATs that caused a delay or cancelation?

Preadmission testing (sorry, that one might be clinic-specific)

I doubt there will be any problems. My pre-admission testing included blood testing, a EKG and a anesthesia interview (question regarding any previous anesthesia problems). I believe these are all to give them baseline values so that they know what normal is for you so that they have something to compare to after you have (or during) surgery. That is what I was told when I posed this question to the nurse that gave me the pre-op testing paperwork.

Good luck on your journey!!!

Don't worry Lorelei! You will be just fine. They just want to see where you are on everything- labs, etc. Just think positive- and everything will go just great. you will be on the losers bench very soon.

Hi Laurie, You are in my thoughts & prayers. wont be long now for you I have waited 14 years to have the WLSurgery. Finally coming to pass for me. I have my PAT's next month. If all goes well I am scheduled to have surgery Jan.21st. My husbands insurance would not cover any wls. I kind of gave up but never got it out of my mind, I prayed and waited and lo and behold, it is going to happen. I just turned 60 in Oct. Wish I could have had it while I was younger....but I am a young 60 year old, and I want my to be healthy and get rid of obesity in my life. I have alot to live for. Keep us informed how everything goes for you.
