Hooray, I'm scheduled, now a question about how much I can lift how soon

Ooh, I am going to have to figure out something.  My dog weighs about 20# and is almost 16, blind, deaf and has started having heart issues. (I know it is getting near that time, but he is in no pain, knows his way around and is still a tail wagging lovable little guy and will be my last dog)  He has stairs to get up up my bed but the last several days has not used them and needs to be picked up and put on the bed.  He generally gets down using the steps.  I have to clean his eyes out about 6 times a day and put lubricant in them as his body rejected his tear ducts.  I am alone a lot and am going to have to lift him.  I will just be as careful as possible.  I will mention this to my doctor.

I remember when I had my children they would say do not lift anything heavier than your baby and I would ask them if they hired a live-in maid for me!

Blessings!
