Excited
Hi folks,
I'm rather new here, and until now have just been posting in my local forums (Ontario) But I'm venturing out. Today is 3 weeks exactly until surgery.
my last week of real food, opti fast starts next monday (Merry Christmas to me huh LOL)
Anyway hi, I'm Shay, I jot in my blog about my journey, but the basics are I'm 5'7, 262 pounds (after a recent 10 pound weightloss) and am going for RNY on January 7 in Toronto :)
I'm inspired by the success I've seen in this forum, and hope you're all enjoying your holidays :)
Mine has been pretty good so far. I have a little pain just below right ribs, doc is sending me for ultrasound of gall bladder so we will see.
The first 4 weeks was the hardest for me, it was frustrating knowing I wasn't getting all the proteins and fluids in but once got past that, I felt great.
Do your walking like the doc says to also. :)
Happy journey, keep us posted and post pics, I love looking at the pics of everyone, some make me tear up seeing the transformation. :)

ahh I'm all too familiar with the gall bladder pain, I had mine removed last december. It's common in wls patients though because of the quick weight loss. The gall bladder removal isn't major, I was out the same day of the surgery. And the best part is you never feel that pain again. If it is gallstones, the pain will keep getting worse. Ah! Good luck
And I'll definitely keep you posted!
Thanks, My pain isn't that bad but still its best to get checked, who knows maybe he caught it early and I won't have to feel that level of pain. The only pain I felt for my gastric bypass was the gas and I had a torn muscle from one of the spots the port went into. I guess it was enough to keep my mind off the incisions. I have been told the Gallbladder removal isn't nearly as bad as the RNY.
I look forward to seeing your progress and let us know as soon as you can when your home from the hospital.
My surgery is also January 7th. I'm excited and scared at the same time.
