Picky Eater
I too am a picky eater when my doctor's plan called for meat, eggs, cheese for the first few months I had a sigh of relief. I don't like eggs and only like a couple of cheeses I do like meat. during the pureed stage I pureed meat, then soft meats then dense meats. I'm now at the weight loss that allows me to add 1/2 cup of veggies, 1/2 cup of fruit, and 1 dairy and 1 complex carb a day. I don't like veggies so I'm not eating those but have added a complex carb a couple times a week after getting my protein in. I've also added in chicken noodle soup 1-2 times a month. Really sit and consider what you are willing to eat and see if you can make it work with your plan.
Thanks for the advice everyone. I feel better now that I have gotten some feedback. I think of lot of it is nerves and over-loading on info right now. I've gone to the sites you recommended and it's very helpful!
I have always been a horrible picky eater, too (and a carb addict). I'm 4 years out and have had been at goal for over 3 years now. You'll have to find things that work for you, but you can do it. If I can, anyone can ![]()

I've always been a picky eater---but surprisingly, I'm less picky now than I was pre-op. I've found I like, even crave, some things I wouldn't touch pre-op---things like deviled eggs and cole slaw.
Fortunately I've always been a big fan of meat, cheese, nuts, seafood, poultry, etc.---great sources of animal-based protein. If you can't eat these foods, you really need to re-think having a malabsorptive surgery. Take a look at the Sleeve. (And the DS, given your BMI.)
Thanks. I was told at my pre-op appt yest not to mess with the protein drinks and powders, to get the protein from real foods. I'm sure I will try them though.
Hope you feel better soon!!
