Something very weird just happened...
So I got out of the hospital yesterday after 3 weeks I can finally keep down liquids and my surgeon moved me to full liquds. So I woke up and had 8oz of water and then made myself a protien shake with some skim milk and whey strawberry protien powder. I started sipping on it and at about 4oz down I started to feel a little nausouse but just slowed down on the sipping but coninued. Well then I felt very nausous and went to the bathroom and through up. It was pink because it was strawberry flavored but a light pink and there were a whole bunch of tiny little white balls that looked almost like cottage cheese! what in the hell!!! Did the milk currdle in my stomach or something? Now that its out I feel alot better but Im a little freaked out. I do have an ulcer right now and my surgeon has me on 4 doses of carafate a day and protonics to keep the acid down could acid currdle milk in your stomach? Have I become Lactose intollerant? I mean when I had yogurt I was fine....Any help would be great
Have you tried mixing your shake with water? It sounds like acid with the milk. I could not tolerate shakes period when I was that far out. Hope this helps.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!
My dietician said most people who are lactose intolerant can still eat yogurt. So try leaving out the cows milk and see how you feel.

I'm lactose intolerant I get sick drinking milk but I can still eat yogurt and cheese. Make sure your protein powder is a whey isolate only. If it contains any whey concentrate ...it has lactose in it. I mix mine with my coffee in the morning. I use soy milk to make my shakes. I use Body Fortress Whey Isolate from Walmart. You can find lots of protein powders that are 99% lactose free at GNC or the Vitamin Shoppe. They are a lot more expensive.
They whey isolate protein powders are cheaper at amazon, IME.
