Anyone else unable to vomit?
I've vomited a tiny bit once from eating too fast, but it was a painful retching thing - like watching a cat cough up a hair ball for about 30 minutes. It was miserable. I also have occasional episodes of vertigo, unrelated to my GBP, and during those times I become extremely nauseated with any head movement. I've had only one episode of this since surgry, and twice, I wished I could vomit. I had severe dry heaves and a little mucous (like ya'all say "the white foamies".) OMG, it was awful. Thank God for Zofran. Anyway, I have been very careful with my eating after the food induced episode.
I never, ever vomited before surgery. I used to say I had "puke-phobia". I would rather lay perfectly still taking deep breaths in absolute misery than vomit and feel better.
Now, it's the opposite. If I accidentally eat too fast and feel the foamies coming on I can tighten my ab and chest muscles in a certain way and everything comes up. It's much like going down since I have no stomach acid to burn on the way up. The food just comes up with no pain at all - it's almost like the reverse of swallowing. It's only happened 2-3 times and I hope it doesn't happen again, but it's thankfully nowhere near as bad as pre-surgery.
Nope cant vomit, no matter how much I gag and wretch, never have I vomited since my surgery. Which really sucks now that I am pregnant and have the worst morning sickness ever!! I will gag, cough and get the foamies....but never can I puke...
I hate it because I know I would just feel better if I could...
Oh hun, I feel for you!! My last pregnancy was constant nausea but no vomiting, and I COULD vomit then!! I hope the morning sickness clears up soon!
Thanks Kelly, I'm feeling pretty good, better everyday.
off to see the surgeon today to see if I'm cleared to start exercising- fingers crossed because I seriously feel like I'm wasting this time!
