Since my exploratory Tuesday everything I try to eat tastes horrible. I really hope this goes away soon. Why does that happen?

I am not sure why but I can say that I had the same issue. It took about a month to go away  now 9.5 months out,Things taste much better.

I don't know why it happens but I went through the same thing, but rest assured it will get better and you'll get your taste back

I'm not really sure, but my guess would be the anesthesia. It stays in your body up to 2-3 weeks and can make you have brain fog, fatigue, change your appetite, even your body odor as your system metabolizes it and gets rid of it. I could see it maybe affecting your sense of smell/taste temporarily.

I have had this with past surgeries and it went away.  In this case, perhaps it is a good thing?

Check your tongue for white discharge/bumps.  You might have thrush.  I did and food and water tasted like crap.
