How to deal with co workers

A few of my co-workers have started addressing me as "Slim" or "Skinny Minny". This irks the crap out of me. My name is Mary. How do I politely tell them to not address me that way. I know that they think it's a compliment, but it isn't especially since I'm neither one.

I would, without making too big a deal about it, just let them know that them calling you those names makes you uncomfortable. I think, as you stated they probably are excited/happy for you and mean it in an entirely complimentary way. And you say that  you're neither one - well they see you that way so cheers/kudos to you!!!! Keep up the great work its obviously working!

Thank you for your suggestion. I just want them to greet me by my name. I understand if they called me this on one occasion, but they act as though this is my nickname. What are they going to call me if I gain weight? Fatty?

Well, if you can't live with it, simply say "I really appreciate your encouragement and compliments, but it makes me feel a little uncomfortable.  I don't want to offend you, but I'd really rather not be called that."  But be prepared to be gossiped about because of it.

I go back to work tomorrow and fully expect that kind of treatment.  It will irk the fire out of me, but to keep office peace I will deal with it.  I float between several medical practices in two different sites.  One site will be worse than the other.  Because one site has a bunch of immature ladies (gossipers) and the other has mature ladies (non-gossipers).  I'm gonna suck it up and graciously accept their "compliments".  If it becomes too much I'll say "Ok, ok...I know I'm hot...thanks for noticing...back to business."  They all know I'm a kidder and try to have fun with everything. So they'll take it well.

Good luck going back to work tomorrow. I'm 5 months out from having surgery and it has been 5 months of people trying to get in my business. No one knows that I've had surgery so the questions have been plentiful. Toss in the nicknames and things get real old real quick. Thank you for the suggestion...

Ohhhh, that's different!  I told everyone because I didn't want people bugging me about it.  But I'm a very open person and don't really care if someone has a problem with my choices.  I'm guessing you're a more private person.  It's funny how people love to mind someone else's business!  LOL!!!  For a more private person I would imagine all those comments would be extremely uncomfortable.  Hang in there.  Eventually a new topic of infatuation will present itself and your new smaller self will be "normal" to them.  It takes a while.  My husband lost 200+ pounds and it took about 6 months after for the comments to stop.

Those knuckleheads would think that I was joking around If I said that. I'm going say that and see what happens!
