Has anybody had any experience with "Curamin" or Curcumin to use for pain? A friend here at work swears by it to reduce inflammation. Is it a good alternative to NSAIDs?

Thanks!

I've been using tumeric, which contains curcumin, for a couple months now and it seems to be helping my back a lot.  There are some people that shouldn't take it, though, so make sure you do your research.  I think people that take blood thinners and maybe diabetes are not supposed to take it, but I can't remember for sure.

It is not fast acting like NSAIDS.  I was on it for two or three weeks before I noticed any improvement, which I've read is typical.  You can't just take it for a headache like you can Advil.  But for chronic inflammation like arthritis, I think it can be effective for some people.

Thanks Kelly. I believe my friend takes it every day to help prevent migraines. Lord knows I need something for that. I've gone off all my headache meds recently. Also I have bad arthritis so I'm for sure going to check into it further!

Thanks

The BCM-95 is a good version of curcumin, but the clinical studies are lacking.  The supplement that I use for inflammation reduction is SierraSil.  I can only purchase it online in the US, but even my Dentist can see the reduction of inflammation in my gums.
