Wonder why I feel so fainty

Lately I've been having episodes where I suddenly out of the blue feel like I'm going to pass out. I feel nervous and Have to put my head down to make it feel better. Can it be my sugar? I tried to eat a orange and it didn't help at all. One other time I thought maybe I was just hungry so I ate some beef jerky and that didn't help. I had to leave church early yesterday cause I felt so bad. What could it be? It's a scary feeling!

Lightheadedness can be indicative of dehydration - what's your fluid intake?

It could be dehydration. I never thought of that. I should drink more water.

Absolute minimum of 64oz a day - many docs will encourage 80-100 as you progress.

I've had that since my surgery.  Mine is due to low blood pressure.  It's funny because before RNY I had high blood pressure.  Now, it's always low.  They told me to increase fluids & salt intake.  Have someone check your blood pressure!

You are right! It could be that! I'm also on bp meds for high blood pressure. Maybe that's it. How do u get it to be normal? You said salt intake?

I would make an appointment with the doctor ASAP because if your BP is low, then you definitely shouldn't be taking your current BP meds anymore.  Mine was low, so they took me off the Lasix.  It's still low, so my doc said to increase water & salt intakes.  Hope this helps!!

Could be low blood sugar or low blood pressure.  Could be something else.  If it keeps happening, you should probably see your doctor.  If you can, check your blood sugar and blood pressure the next time it happens.

Dr thought I might need to come off of B/P meds as I was feeling very faint. Through blood work, he discovered it was low potassium. I was treated and am doing better now.
