different types of vomiting
So for the last two weeks I have been on soft foods. I have only had fish (salmon and tilapia) and tried crab legs. My pouch is small, I have an ulcer, and some narrowing. ( I go to my surgeon march 4th for an endoscopy and possible dilation) I have stuck with the amount of food that was listed with my pureed stage which is 4-6 tablespoons. The soft food stage allows for 8-12 tablespoons but Im still having a rough time with the 4-6 so I am sticking with that for now. So anyway I have experienced vomiting a few times (actually quite a few times and that landed me in the hospital for 3 weeks) now its not so bad and I can go a whole day with eating and drinking and not vomit (thats huge from where I was coming from) I have experience what I have noticed as two types of vomiting so far and was just wondering what they mean or why it happens. The first im pretty sure is because I have taken one bite to many. Sometimes I can get my 6 tablespoons in and sometimes I only make it to 3 so I never quite know until I take the bite that ends up being to much. With this I just feel a pressure and kinda like its in my throat I vomit and its literally like only the last bite I took. Then there is the other vomit which im not understanding it has happened about 2 times. I will eat and everything will feel fine and all of a sudden (sometimes up to 30 minutes to an hour later) I will get a sudden huge wave of nausea, my mouth fills up with water and I feel so sick to my stomach, run to the bathroom and feel like I am throwing my guts up! After I feel fine. I will be two months out on feb 12th. Any ideas as to why this is happening? is it maybe that the particular food just didnt agree?
It can be anything from the fact that you are not chewing it enough to a bad pouch day to dumping syndrome. What I do is eat half my allotted amount and wait 5 minutes to see if I feel full. The nerves in your pouch are prolly still waking up and you cant feel the fullness as fast as you did before. Also we just cant eat some foods at all or on a certain day for whatever reason. Its a learning experimental journey at this point. Oh I almost forgot...I know you were told this and you prolly adhere to it but make sure you stop drinking 30 minutes before and 1 hour after you eat. If it doesnt get better you may want to tell your surgeon so they can check you for a stricture. Good luck hope you feel better.
