Went to fridge to get jello and saw fresh sliced turkey and put a slice in my mouth chewed it up and got rid of it.  All day I have been hungry so that kinda helped.  Anyone else do this or am I the only crazy one

I wondered this the other day myself. I read lots of posts stating that people often do this. I admit I have done it with a healthy pizza slice I made for my daughter. I suppose the big risks are swallowing by accident and letting it become a habit that goes beyond the postoperative diet phase. I am not concerned I would do this after my post op diet. I will be so happy to eat real food again...I will swallow whatever I eat and it will be healthy food. Not worried. I think you are ok too.

Good luck to you heart

Not sure how far out from surgery you are? But, assuming that you are far enough along, why would you spit it out? Turkey is good for you and has protein, this is what you would want (lean protein), unless you aren't that far out and aren't allowed to have turkey yet? And if you aren't that far along this is something you might want to avoid as it is setting you up for bad habits. Now is the time to change your old habits into better ones and learn to make the right choices.
I would definitely be careful, this is just my opinion but it borders on the line of eating disorder (chewing and sptting out.) If a person was doing this (not a WLS patient) they would be considered to have an eating disorder. If you think about it, you wouldn't have done this before surgery right? Just be careful in whatever you do and focus on the right food choices so that you can make lifelong decisions The malabsorption is going to decrease with time and you will not have that benefit forever.

Ok so your not the only one. I am 12 days post op and ate some chicken breast last night. Feeling like hell today but no dumping which is good.
