I'm sure this has been addressed but I'm at work and looking for suggestions as to how I can change my ways....it started out with eating a small amount here and there and get away from the 3 meals a day...maybe I need to go back to that but it seemed to jump start my weight loss but now as all things food related it's become a slippery slope and I'm finding myself snacking and drinking while I'm doing it! Ok, this is the second day that I've really recognized but I want to stop it.

It's just not good and this may only be a confessional and hopefully I can work it out...it's not affected the scale but it will if i keep going.  Anyone else face this?

Thanks for any suggestions!

Sherry

I eat six times a day most days.  Just three meals a day doesn't work for me.  Maybe you need to plan some healthy snacks into your day.

However, if you want to avoid snacks, you could try not buying the kind of foods you're most likely to snack on.  Also, I find drinking warm drinks helps me feel full and stay away from food.

Thanks Kelly!  I do drink coffee in the mornings and afternoon most days because of school. You're right, it really helps and makes me feel satisfied!  My healthy snack has been nuts that I buy from a whole foods type place close to work....but I know while they are somewhat good for me, they are a calorie, fat killer.   I need to get some fruit here at work and more protein choices.   I haven't been tracking either with everything else going on.  Gotta focus on me!

How's your sweet doggy doing?

Take care!

I just got done chasing that sweet doggie halfway across the neighborhood.  There are a number of people in my neighborhood that let their dogs out off leash, and it is really making me mad.   When Isaac sees a dog off leash, especially if it barks or acts like it wants to play, his first response is to try to run after it.  Usually, if I spot the dog right away and tell Isaac to sit, he will.  Today, we were just stepping out the front door for a walk, Isaac on leash, of course, when he saw another dog and took off after it.  He weighs 71 lbs and when he takes off at a run, I can't hold onto the leash without injuring myself.  So I then had to go track him down.

I think it's so rude for people to let their dogs run around off leash.  And in this case, the owner was no where to be seen.  So of course the owner is not picking up after his dog, either.

Oh dear Kelly!   It drives me nuts when people let their dogs roam or walk them and don't pick up after them.  We have always had small dogs (terriers) and never could keep them from running, but we had a fence.  Occasionally someone would forget to close the gate and it was awful getting them back.  I would drive the car around the circle following them until they tired out and got in the car (I could not walk/run after them).  We have trained them with all  commands/tricks, but when they want to be free if they get a chance.

I do three meals a day and I've added a snack. I'll eat some mini peppers, baby carrots or some cheese. I put it on the pan til it's crispy and it makes a nice crunchy snack! MMM...

I struggle with snacking too. I love popcorn and pretzels. Which are just white carbs and have no protein whatsoever. What helps for me is to plan my day around meals and snacks and try to work in enough protein with enough space for calories for a moderate amount of nonprotein snacks. I am careful to measure and stick with a single serving. I log everything I eat on Livestrong so I am accountable. I try not to eat out of boredom or due to any reason other than hunger. I chew gum if necessary and sip water. It's a daily struggle since I often love to turn to food just for the texture and taste. But it's deadly to permanent weight loss so I know I have to keep it under control. take it one day at a time, one meal at a time, and one snack at a time, recognizing that you can make changes at every point and engage in conscious eating. Best of luck to you!
