Anyone from nc or went to duke metabolic and weight loss center

My surgery was also in Greenville but I have a friend who had hers at Duke about 10 years ago.

How are all y'all doing since your surgeries? Did any of you have any complications after or during surgery?

I'm doing great. I went from a size 20 down to a size 8. I'm almost a year out so my loss has slowed down but I'm already at the point where people are telling me if I lose anymore weight I'll be too thin. lol.

Complication: I developed pneumonia(not common so don't freak out) because I didn't do the breathing treatments(stupid move I know). I had to spend an extra week in the hospital and had to have an "exploratory surgery" so they could figure out what was wrong with me and why I had a high fever. I was fine after a few days and had lost almost twenty pounds.

It takes a lot of adjusting and will power to do this, but once its done and we've lost the weight and are healthier we are so much better off.

Durham, NC.  Duke weight loss Center. 12/11/12 Durham Regional Hospital. Dr Rujan Sudan Asst. Dr Lee. Dr Sudan is Awesome, said to be the one of the best "I believe it" and he truly listens... Lap RNY. No complications, 45 lbs down.

Both me and my husband went to the WLC in Durham....we both have had VERY successful surgeries!!! The staff was awesome my entire journey....It was one of the best things I have ever done for myself!!
