heres to the start of my 2 week liquid diet
The 1st 3 or 4 days are the worst. You may get a headache for a few days as your body adjusts, but your body will adjust. You can do it. Just get keep getting fluids and "eat" a little more often than you normally would. I used yogurt for my snacks between my shakes. I am fortunate in that I really like yogurt. I know some people despise it.
You can do this. Take it one hour at a time...one day at a time. For me the first two days were the hardest. After that I felt amazing. I lost 15lbs before surgery. It's important to do this because you have to shrink your liver before surgery. Stock up on clear soups from trader joes, Popsicles, sugar free jello, make chicken and beef broth, g2 Gatorade....go for walks and also drink lots of water and sleep when you feel weak. If you can't stick to clear liquids for two weeks and make the commitment you're going to have a hard time after surgery. I had to get my mind right to GE successful. I'm 17 months post op and I've lost 135 pounds. I'm 10 pounds from goal weight. You can do this....I promise you, if you commit to this new way of life and look at the surgery as a tool to be used with healthy eating and exercise ...you will GE successful. The next two weeks will fly by. Read all you can about the surgery, look at before and after success stories and pictures, pack your overnight bag for the hospital, clean your home so you can relax after the surgery, go food shopping for what you'll need after surgery. Be sure to have what you need on hand. These are examples of what I did to stay busy and productive. Please post and let me know how you're doing. Wishing you an amazing day! :-)

thank you so much you have made my day :) I can not have any snacky foods The dietican and doctor were very strict liquids ONLY. I am having 5 atkins shakes per day (there were other options but i didnt like them) i stocked up on broths SF Jello SF popsicles and crystal light varieties. I just keep thinking to myself why the doctor said this is needed.
thanks so much for the support :)

The first 3 days were the hardest for me too! I had a bad headache, felt weak, dizzy, like my brain wasn't functioning, and all around bad. I tried to keep busy to keep me from thinking about food. Then on day 4 I woke up feeling ok---and I wasn't really as hungry anymore. I had to schedule my shakes because I wasn't "dying" for them like I was the previous days. I had random headaches but not as bad as the first 3 days (and I always get headaches anyways). You CAN do it! Just think about all the positive things that will come with every day from now on. :)
Stay strong! Everyone is right, the first few days are the toughest. Do you have a Costco nearby? I drank their Premier Protein shakes, 30 grams per serving, and those helped with controlling my hunger. Also, GNC and Vitamin Shoppe sell Isopure bottled pre-made protein drinks, clear. Those are really good and also filling, 40 grams per bottle. Remember that this pre-op diet is functional in that the doc needs your liver nice and small to get around it, it's not meant to torture you. Drink, sip, stay active, stay away from temptations. I had to do my pre-op in December when the teacher's lounge was full of sweets and snacks all week, and I just stayed away! Good luck! It'll all be worth it soon!
