So today is about 2 and a half months since my surgery and I weighed in at 314.0 from my surgery weight of 368. Thats 54 pounds lost! March 12th will be exactly 3 months and I am hoping to lose 6 more pounds by then so at 3 months I will have lost 60 pounds. That 20 pounds a month :) Im so excited but then when I realize that even after 14 more pounds lost I will still be 300 and that overwhelms me. I still have so so much more to go

I felt the same way when I started losing. I was so happy with how much I had lost, but I kept thinking, "man, but I still have a lot to lose!"
Don't worry though. You'll get there. Almost 60 lbs in three months is amazing. It took me 6 months to lose that. You're doing wonderfully!

I hear you. I am so excited at having lost 65 lbs since my surgery 3.5 months ago. I just now hit 299 lbs. It is daunting to think about how far you have to go. But think about how far you have already come. Do you have more energy? A better attitude? Can you walk farther and move longer? I do & I can. So those are helpful to remember. Just remember we are all here to root you on! Congrats on how far you have already come Amber!

You're doing well!! Focus on the positive!! I was a heavyweight, too (highest weight was 339). It seemed like it was going to take forever to get to goal compared to other people who have to lose much less. Hang in there. This part of the journey will all soon be a blur.

Setting short term goals was helpful for me. Otherwise the whole process seemed overwhelming. Also, setting non scale related goals helped, such as bending over to tie my shoes without my face feeling like it would explode, or running up a flight of stairs.

Remember to take your measurements and good luck! Congrats on your loss so far.

I weighed 348 day of surgery and have lost 107 lbs so far and I'm 6 months out.  I still feel overwhelmed when I think of the amount of weight I have to lose still.  Having lost that 107 lbs is fabulous though...my knees aren't in agony any more and I can breathe when I walk now.  Can't wait to lose the rest!!
